HSJ Rheumatology and MSK Disorders Network - East of England

12:15 - 16:15 | Friday 22 March

Network with like- minded colleagues who are involved in the commissioning and delivery of Rheumatic and MSK disorders from across primary and secondary care and associated organisations at our HSJ Rheumatology and MSK Disorders Network - East of England Meeting.

Leading this meeting is Dr Gavin Clunie, a Consultant Rheumatologist in Ipswich for 12 years and has had a substantial subspecialty interest in metabolic bone diseases (osteoporosis included) for much longer. He is affiliated to several societies including the National Osteoporosis Society, the British Society for Rheumatology and  the Bone Research Society.

The main challenges to configuring effective, cost-optimised and safe clinical pathways in delivering MSK-Rheumatology Services are focused around the following four areas of MSK disease:

  • Inflammatory arthritis (IA) and Inflammatory back-pain (IBP): detecting patients early and having triage processes that lead to early treatment and disease remission

  • Preventing Fractures: access to patient ID is key from all areas together with quickly assessing management options. Connecting to Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) is therefore essential.

Attending this HSJ Regional Network will provide opportunity to:

  • Meet and network with a range of roles attending across the heatlh and care sector, outside of your immediate peer group

  • Participate in facilitated discussion sessions that are truly multidisiplinary, value-adding and progressive conversations to aid service improvement and patient outcomes in focus areas

  • Share best practice with innovation case studies and showcasing technology

Venue: Holiday Inn, Cambridge CB24 9PH
