Dr Jon Dickson
Dr Dickson is a GP, a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield and a GPSI (GP with a Special Interest) in the epilepsy clinic at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals which is a large tertiary neurology centre. He also works on the CASES peer-review system for GP neurology referrals which was commissioned by NHS Sheffield CCG. His research has been published in international journals and he is working on a number of large grants at the University of Sheffield.
He is a member of the NICE guideline update committee for epilepsy, he was Chair of the guideline development group for the seizures chapter of the UK paramedics clinical practice guidelines (‘JRCALC’) which was recently published. He has advised and/or peer-reviewed for the following journals, publications and organisations: The King’s Fund, Seizure, the British Journal of General Practice, NIHR HS&DR (Health Services and Delivery Research programme), NIHR HTA (Health Technology Assessment programme), the Palliative and Supportive Care journal, the Map of Medicine and the RCGP e-learning package for motor neurone disease (in association with the MND association). He is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), the Society for Academic Primary Care (SAPC), Epilepsy Action and the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) (the main group and the Primary Care Society).
