Emma has worked as a solicitor, and then in training within law firms for the majority of her career.  In addition, following her experience of developing vitiligo in 2004, she began to volunteer as Chair of Trustees for a vitiligo charity, and went on to set up her own Patient Support charity, registered with the Charity Commission in 2016.  She runs Vitiligo Support UK, and also is the member representing patients’ interests for the British Association of Dermatologists’ committee for Translational Research, the Research Sub-Committee and the Patient Engagement Working Group.  In addition she has contributed as lay member to the Phototherapy Guidelines produced by the BAD and is currently the lay member for the production of the BAD Guidelines for the Treatment of Vitiligo.  She is also a Patient Research Ambassador, and in her spare time works as a business coach.
