National Osteoporosis Society
Will is a Physiotherapist by profession; qualifying from UWE in Bristol back in the dark ages of the early part of this millennium. His main clinical interest developed in community elderly rehabilitation and he subsequently specialised in falls prevention; leading the Falls Service in Gloucestershire for several years and completing a NICE Scholarship based on implementing their falls prevention guidance in the acute hospital setting. Will joined the National Osteoporosis Society in 2015 as a Project Manager within the Service Delivery team. The original core objectives of the team - expand the provision and enhance the quality of Fracture Liaison Services provided across the UK – remain to this day. The Charity has seen 28 new services start since the start of the programme; providing FLS to 9.6m people who didn’t otherwise have access, preventing over 3000 hip fractures and saving the local health economy £61m over 5 years.
